ANZ Royal Bank is a locally incorporated commercial bank with ownership shared between the Royal Group of Cambodia and ANZ.

On 15th September 2005 the bank opened officially for business with four branches (and eight ATMs) in the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh.

ANZ Royal focuses on providing convenient access to individuals and businesses that previously could not access formal financial channels.

ANZ Royal's ongoing strategy is to create a full scale commercial banking operation with multiple distribution channels allowing customers access at points other than branches and 24/7 access via the internet and ATMs.

Shanghai Rural Commercial Bank Shanghai Rural Commercial Bank

Shanghai Rural Commercial Bank, is the largest rural commercial bank in China and 18th largest bank by assets in China.

SRCB's main operations comprise: deposit taking, short, medium and long term financing, domestic and international settlement, financial instruments acceptance and discount, issuance, redemption and underwriting of government bonds, bank cards, foreign exchange remittance, credit investigation and advisory, payment collection and insurance business agency services.

As part of the partnership, ANZ will provide technical assistance to SRCB in a number of areas including risk management, retail banking, small business banking, financial markets, international trade, human resources, finance, operations and information technology.

In 1999, PT ANZ Panin Bank acquired the credit card assets of Bank Papan from Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency to expand its retail presence. Since then, PT ANZ Panin Bank expanded its focus by building a premium card business, which has grown to own 70% of the platinum card market in Indonesia, making it the market leader of the platinum segment.

PT ANZ Panin Bank is the largest joint venture bank in Indonesia in terms of customer and profitability ratios.

PT ANZ Panin supports trade and investment flows between Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia, Indonesia's trade with Asia and selective retail banking business.

ANZ Vientiane Commercial Bank ANZ Vientiane Commercial Bank

Established in 1993, VCB is the only privately owned commercial bank in Laos.

ANZ Vientiane Commercial Bank is a joint venture bank formed in September 2007. The shareholders are:
  • Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ)
  • International Finance Corporation (IFC)
  • Vientiane Commercial Bank limited (VCB)

ANZ has majority representation on the board as well as key management positions.

ANZV will offer a range of personal and business transaction and lending products. A network of ATMs will be introduced along with new branch locations.

ANZV officially launched its new brand on the 31 May 2008 which included a new logo, refurbished main branch, new ATMs and a new product suite.

Vietnam

Sacombank Sacombank

Sacombank is the largest commercial publicly listed bank in Vietnam in terms of chartered capital and branch network.

In June 2006, ANZ signed a Memorandum of Understanding for development of a credit card joint venture with Sacombank. This arrangement will position the joint venture to enter the first developing credit card market in Vietnam.

Sacombank's strategy is to become the leading retail bank in Vietnam by 2010.
